Where is Badr?
Badr is a historic town located in the Madinah Province of present-day Saudi Arabia, approximately 130 kilometers southwest of Madinah, near the Red Sea coast. Throughout history, it held strategic importance as a significant stopping point on the ancient caravan route between Makkah and Syria.
Today, Hajj and Umrah pilgrims visiting the area can see the hill where the battle took place, Jabal al-Mala'ikah (Mountain of Angels) — believed to be where the angels descended — and the Badr Martyrs Cemetery (Maqbarat al-Shuhada) where the graves of the 14 Companions who were martyred in the Battle of Badr are located.
